You Asked, We Listened: Introducing the TCVS ActivePlus Membership

Here's something we love about the TCVS community: you tell us what you need, and we get to work. Back in 2024, we sent out a member survey — and the results were clear. One of the most common reasons people were joining TCVS wasn't just the trails. It was you. It was the people. It was the chance to find a like minded community, hiking partners, meet fellow adventurers, and feel genuinely connected to the Creston Valley outdoors community.

So we built something around that. Say hello to the TCVS ActivePlus Membership.

 THE MAIN CHANGE

The idea for a refreshed membership started taking shape in early 2024 when the TCVS board recognized it was time for an update — one that reflected what members actually wanted while adding value for members. Once our Membership Committee was formed, the whole thing snowballed in the best possible way. Members were consulted, ideas were gathered, local business partnerships were forged, and a brand-new membership model was born.

The result? An ActivePlus Membership priced at just $20 per year — a small investment that opens the door to a whole lot more.

We know $20 is a price increase from before, and we want to be upfront about why: maintaining and expanding our trails, advocating for public land and water access, and growing our community programs all require ongoing resources. Your membership directly supports that mission. And we've made sure the perks more than make up for it.

One of our favorite new features? A dedicated online member forum — a safe, members-only space where you can plan hikes, arrange snowshoe outings, post about a sporting goods swap meet, or simply connect with fellow trail lovers in the Valley. Think of it as your back-door into a community of people who get it. No strangers. Just trail friends you haven't met yet.

A SPECIAL WORD FOR OUR ActiveLegacy MEMBERS

TCVS membership has been around since 2014 — and from the very beginning, a group of dedicated individuals stepped up as Lifetime Members. 455 of them backed this organization early, and their support helped lay the groundwork for everything we've built since.

As part of our membership refresh, we wanted to give those founding supporters a proper acknowledgement. All existing Lifetime Members are now recognized by a new title: TCVS ActiveLegacy Member. A name that honors who they are and where we came from. Their original membership terms remain exactly as they always were, unchanged.

ActiveLegacy Members will continue to receive what they've always received — work bee notifications, updates & news, invitations to organized TCVS events and the opportunity to attend and speak at our monthly board meetings — just as before. No strings attached. Simply a thank you, worn as a title.
