We’re Growing — And We Need You Behind the Scenes

Trail building and maintenance might be what most people picture when they think of volunteering with the Creston Valley Trails Society. But before we ever pick up a pruning saw or a rake, there’s a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work that makes it possible. As TCVS grows, we’re spreading the load — and right now, we have four key roles to fill.

These positions don’t require you to haul tools up a hillside. They require your time, your skills, and your passion for trails and community. Whether you’re a social media enthusiast, a tech-minded hiker, a natural organizer, or a project leader with vision, there’s a role here for you.

The Roles We’re Looking to Fill

Social Media Coordinator ~6+ hours/month

Help keep our community informed, inspired, and connected. This role manages social media posts, website blogs, and event updates, and attends board meetings (virtually or in person) to stay current. You’ll fact-check content, respond to inquiries, and direct questions to the right people.

If you love outreach, storytelling, and growing a community — this role is for you.

Trail Counter Guru ~6 hours/month

Love quiet hikes and meaningful tech work? This role keeps our trail counters installed, maintained, and operational. You’ll relocate counters, monitor data, and perform routine maintenance using online platforms. This position requires care, consistency, and comfort with technology.

If precision and a bit of solitude appeal to you — you’re our person.

Volunteer Coordinator, under 6 hours/month

Be the heart of our volunteer community. This role manages our active volunteer list, improves engagement, tracks volunteer hours, and supports communication. Most duties happen through our website and email systems.

If you enjoy organization, community building, and light data entry — this role is for you.

Trail Booklet Coordinator, 6 months to 1 year, start to finish

Lead a long-awaited project from beginning to end. This role brings back our highly anticipated trail booklet by organizing content, pricing, timelines, and production details. You’ll focus on accuracy and delivery — while our fundraising team handles the funding side.

If you love project leadership and seeing ideas become reality — this role is for you.

What to Expect

Training will be provided for all roles, so you don’t need to walk in knowing everything. Not sure if it’s the right fit? Drop in at our next board meeting and get a feel for what we’re all about. Find when that will be on our calendar here: https://www.crestonvalleytrails.ca/

Ready to jump in? Reach out to us at info@crestonvalleytrails.ca and let us know which role sparks your interest.

The trails don’t maintain themselves — but neither does the organization behind them.

Thank you for considering being part of what keeps TCVS moving forward.
