Happy summer to everyone!  A trail work bee is planned for next Thursday morning, in the cool shade of the cedar grove along Summit Creek. For this work bee, we will be tidying up the recently constructed trailbed on the loop trail through the old-growth cedar/spruce forest. Several wind-thrown trees have blocked the trail and will be removed by certified chainsaw operators. Volunteers are needed to throw branches and roll log segments off the trail, pruners/clippers for clearing back brush along trail, earth-movers to grub hoe/pulaski/shovel some sections of trailbed, and ladder workers to nail reflective tags high up on tree trunks. What to Bring: Please bring gloves, hat, earmuffs/earplugs, water and snacks. Some hand-tools will be provided, but if you have a favourite shovel or pruners, please bring them along. Also needed is an additional 10 foot picking ladder (please email Adam at kootenay_man@hotmail.com if you have one you can bring). We should be finished the work bee around noon Thanks, hope to see you there!
