The snow on the Ka Papa Cedars Trail is presently in great condition for snowshoeing. It is fun to snowshoe the trail in this winter wonderland and get a different perspective to hiking it in summer.

Although caution is needed because the bridge deck across Summit Creek is buried in snow, the trail is still very accessible (see photo). We plan to install a roof over the bridge next summer.

For those not familiar with the area, drive toward Kootenay Pass and park at the pullout on the left just before the yellow avalanche gates. Head over the snowbanks to access the trail.

Happy ‘shoeing!
